Call Of Duty WWII Keeps On Sounding Better And Better!

Call Of Duty WWII Keeps On Sounding Better And Better!

As you know, here at Mods R Us, we are huge COD fans. That is why all of our modded PlayStation and Xbox controllers are designed with Call Of Duty in mind. Anyway, while we love the multiplayer action that Call Of Duty always offers. It is actually the single player campaign that is really capturing our attention and we recently just found out a few more details.

While the main aspect of the story is Red Daniels and his brother who are from Texas and their experiences in the war. It has been revealed that players will also experience what it was like for a pilot from the RAF, a tank commander and even a female French resistance fighter. While the brotherly dynamic of Red and his brother as they go through the hells of war is the front and center of the story. It does sound like, Activision has really created a great cast of characters that we are going to care about here.

We think this is great news as the story modes in Call Of Duty games have always been about the spectacle. Call Of Duty WWII sounds like it is going to have a lot of heart and make us really care about these characters that are being put through hell.

So while we will no doubt spend hundreds of hours with the multiplayer modes in Call Of Duty WWII, we can assure you that the story is going to be something we really sink our teeth into.

The Grand Theft Auto Retrospective Part 11 Lost And Dammed

The Grand Theft Auto Retrospective Part 11

Act like you are a badass biker in the next installment of our Grand Theft Auto retrospective!

Grand Theft Auto The Lost And The Damned (2009) PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC

Today we are not looking at a whole new game, but a piece of DLC that while being an add on for Grand Theft Auto IV contained as much, if not more gameplay than many of the other games that were released in 2009.

Grand Theft Auto The Lost And The Damned was the first of two DLC episodes for GTA IV. This saw you playing as Johnny Kleebitz. Who is the leader of a chapter of the motorcycle gang, The Lost MC. You actually encounter these guys in the story of GTA IV and they were pretty darn cool. The story of this DLC sees you trying to keep the chapter running all the while having to deal with some internal issues that want to see you no longer be the leader. The story was very well written and as you would expect the voice acting was awesome.

The game was a lot shorter than a typical GTA game, with some people beating it in 10-15 hours. But for DLC this is a lot of gameplay. You could free roam and do what you want, but the story missions did things a little different. What they did was add in mid mission checkpoints. This was awesome as if you failed a mission, you did not have to restart the whole thing.

As this was based on a biker, the bike was a big deal and two kinds of missions, Bike Races and Gang Wars required you to be on the bike. Multiplayer also had lots of bike focused modes such as chopper vs chopper, lone wolf biker, and witness protection.

The Lost And The Damned was heavily praised by critics, especially the story and the fantastic way they improved motorcycles in the GTA world.

The Grand Theft Auto Retrospective Part 12 China Town

The Grand Theft Auto Retrospective Part 12

Today we are causing more carnage with our Grand Theft Auto Retrospective, but this time the carnage is happening in the palm of your hand!

Grand Theft Auto China Town Wars (2009/10) Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, Mobile

First released on the Nintendo DS and then the PlayStation Portable. Grand Theft Auto China Town Wars was kind of a throwback to the series roots with its top down style. But this time the graphics did have a kind of 3D effect to them. In all honesty, this graphical style really suited the DS, but many felt the PSP could have done a lot better.

The game sees you play the role of Huang Lee who is the son of a major Triad gangster. You want to make a name for yourself and you do this by going on a rampage through the streets of Liberty City. China Town Wars did have a few interesting gameplay mechanics. The way you dealt with police was interesting as when you had a wanted level, this would dictate the amount of police that was after you so if it was level 5, you would have to take down 5 police cars to get the wanted level down. China Town Wars got a lot of attention at the time for its drug dealing subplot. This was really in depth and added a lot of strategy to the game.

The Nintendo DS version of the game made use of the touch screen and the microphone. The game actually handled this in a good way and it did not feel tacked on. The PSP version has upgraded graphics and would change the touch screen mini games to quick time events. The PSP version also had more missions and far better quality sound. The mobile versions of the game were optimized for mobile devices and returned most of the touchscreen controls.

Grand Theft Auto China Town Wars very well received on the Nintendo DS and despite being far different from the other PSP GTA games, that version was also critically acclaimed, although it did not sell as well as the other PSP Grand Theft Auto games.

The Grand Theft Auto Retrospective Part 9 Vice City Stories

The Grand Theft Auto Retrospective Part 9

Once again we are shrinking down as we have another portable game in our Grand Theft Auto Retrospective!

Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories (2006) PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 2

Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories was a huge hit and at the same time, RockStar was working on another “stories” game, but this one was based on Vice City. It would be released just a year after Liberty City Stories and just like that, it is regarded as one of the best games on the handheld.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories is once again set in the 1980’s. Just like its console big brother. The style, the fashion, the music, the cars and the way people talk are right out of the 80’s and it is awesome. This time you play as a guy called, Vic Vance. Vic is a pretty interesting character in that he is an army vet who was just trying to make some money for his family, but through a series of events that just keep getting darker and darker, he finds himself deep in the world of organized crime!

Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories plays just like the last game on the PSP, but the big difference here is the empire building aspect. When you take a business from a rival gang, you are now responsible for running this business and making as much money as possible. It was a pretty interesting idea and one that was expanded upon in later games in the series.

While it may lack the wow factor that Liberty City Stories had as the first full GTA game on a handheld console. It was still very well received, with the only issue people really having with the game being that it was perhaps a little too ambitious for the PSP as the handheld could struggle to keep up. It is worth noting that in the following year. Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories would be ported to the PlayStation 2, but it was a very rushed and poorly done port.
